MAGIC!

"The first fall of snow is not only an event, but it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up to find yourself in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?" J.B Priestley (1894 - 1984) - Apes and Angels (1928).
I did not take this picture. My friend in London did (on the 2nd of February 2009) and send it to me yesterday. I thought it was an enchanted picture and then I found the above quote. It simply looks like magic! A magical world where fairies and goblins may live and where magic happens every half hour.
But we all know that magic and fairies and elves and goblins do not really exist - not in the real world anyways ...
But sometimes, in the real world, we experience magic. Have you ever fell in love? Have you ever seen a mother's face with her newborn baby in her arms? Have you ever seen someone win something? Have you ever experienced spring? Seen a butterfly? A ladybird? Ate a magnificent cupcake? Smelled Lavender and Jasmin and Pennyroyal? Watched horses play? Heard the rain on a roof? Seen the ocean when the sun sets? Have you ever seen a really magnificent sunset? Listened to birds on a hot summer afternoon? .... Seen the snow?
Then you have experienced magic! The kind the Lord provides. And what marvelous magic it is! William Shakespeare said in The Winter's Tale (1610 - 11) act 5, sc3, l.109 "If this be magic, let it be an art - Lawful as eating."
And if magic does not readily come to you - make your own magic! We have been equipped by our Father to make our own magic. How? Have you ever given something to someone who are not as fortunate as you? Have you ever taught someone something that they did not know? Have you ever given a gift to someone, which they really appreciated? Given someone a compliment and see their face lit up like the sun? Have you ever written something which someone read and let you know that it meant a lot to them? Have you ever helped someone?
Then my dear reader you will experience magic! And maybe - just maybe if you look over your shoulder at that time you may just catch a glimpse of a smiling fairy being chased by a goblin and elves!
I hope you all have a magical day!

You write that: But sometimes, in the real world, we experience magic.

Yes, that's true. And the artist is a person who tries to reveal the magic he/she had seen, felt.
